This was my first order with Cattail Creek and I suspect it won't be my last. This David Austin Old English rose variety was recommended by a friend. I was looking for a low-maintenance, disease-resistant, ever-blooming, fragrant, red rose to give as a gift. I believe my friend chose well! Originally, I attempted to order it through another source, but it was only available there as a bare root, yet I wanted something that already had a head start and looked nice NOW, so I was thrilled to find this large plant at Cattail Creek! The plant arrived very quickly. It was packaged very well and arrived in perfect condition with full, beautiful foliage and buds. I showed it to my friend who didn't think I'd be able to get one so nice at this late date in spring and he was floored! I wouldn't be surprised if he purchases all his roses from Cattail Creek from now on. After receiving the rose, I placed a call to ask a question. I was treated very well, my question was answered, and the Munstead Rose got planted. It was given in memory of the recipient's parents and planted in a memorial garden. on his property. I can't wait to see it in bloom! Thank you, Cattail Creek, for a beautiful plant, for excellent care in shipping and handling, and for the expert customer service!
Munstead Wood - David Austin English RosesAdd to Wishlist
Munstead Wood features light-crimson buds that open with velvety, deep crimson centers with lighter outer edges. The blooms are large and at first are cupped, later becoming shallower. The flower matures to reveal the stamens at its center nestled in amongst the petals. The growth is quite bushy and forms a broad shrub with good disease resistance. Its fragrance is a strongly old rose, with warm fruity notes reminiscent of blueberry, blackberry and damson.
